Atlanta, Georgia – Reported by Elite Traveler, the private jet lifestyle magazine
The St. Regis Atlanta, an unparalleled in-town resort located in the elegant enclave of Buckhead, will hold its third annual Astor Holiday Rink. To celebrate the season, the hotel will offer premiere holiday experiences including Holiday Tea with Santa, a life-size Gingerbread House, a new Twelve Days of Christmas cocktail menu, a magical Winter Wonderland in-room experience, and romantic Fire & Ice Dinner.
Opening on November 23, 2011, the Astor Holiday Rink is presented by Atlanta-based Coca-Cola. One of the city’s favorite new traditions, the rink opening is synonymous with the start of the holiday season and takes place a day prior to Macy’s Great Tree Lighting at Lenox Square in Buckhead. This year, The St. Regis Atlanta continues the popular tradition of the Astor Holiday Rink in the magical outdoor setting of the 40,000-square-foot Pool Piazza on the sixth floor. As Georgia’s first and only hotel ice skating destination-attracting more than 10,000 skaters in its first two years-the Astor Holiday Rink will remain open through January 3, 2012.
“After the success of last year’s holiday celebrations, we are excited to announce our third annual Astor Holiday Rink,” said Simon Rusconi, general manager. “A favorite among the Atlanta community, it is a pleasure to continue St. Regis’ legacy of offering unparalleled bespoke experiences this winter,”
The hotel will also introduce the St. Regis Holiday Butlers who will be on-hand to welcome visitors and help in creating cherished holiday memories.
More than a century ago at the flagship St. Regis New York, the Astor family hosted magical evenings for their illustrious friends, known as the “Astor 400,” and would often feature spectacular installations such as a ballroom ice skating rink complete with elegant performers-the inspiration behind The St. Regis Atlanta’s unparalleled winter experience.
