Belgraves, A Thompson Hotel, the hotly anticipated new property from the stylish Thompson Hotel collection will open its doors to London’s Belgravia neighborhood on Wednesday, February 1, 2012.
A joint venture with The Harilela Group, the hotel is the first UK opening from Thompson Hotels, an elite portfolio of service and design-driven hotels in major urban cities including New York, Los Angeles and Toronto. Located on 20 Chesham Place, Belgraves brings with it a little New York attitude coupled with traditional British hospitality, to the prestigious and fashionable Belgravia district.

Described as “today’s rough luxury” by lead designer Tara Bernerd of Tara Bernerd & Partners, Belgraves boasts 85 exquisite rooms and suites, a bar, restaurant and lounge lobby. The bedrooms feature silver grey wooden floors throughout, adding warmth to each considered space. All rooms are bold and handsomely decorated with palettes of natural grey tones and textures. Hues of aubergine on signature walls create a stylish yet warm atmosphere. Elegant marble bathrooms finished with smoked glass and brass-beaded curtains add a luxurious finishing touch.

On entering the hotel, guests are met by a large fireplace in an open loft-feel lobby housing stunning art installations. The lounge lobby features an eclectic library and cozy hideaway areas. Adjacent to this is Hix Belgravia, an 80-seat restaurant offering a menu inspired by renowned chef and food writer Mark Hix’s travels from around the world. The mezzanine level plays host to Mark’s Bar, the second of Hix’s famous bars and leads to a stylish cigar garden. Private dining or meetings for up to 22 guests can be hosted and a state-of-the-art gym provides an energetic start to the day.
Business and leisure travelers will delight in Belgraves’ attention to privacy and thoughtful design. In room amenities include flat screen TVs, Rococo chocolates and Coco De Mer intimacy boxes.
