Reflecting the competition’s growth year on year, the awards have evolved from their original walkaround tasting format, and for the first time will take place as an elegant gala dinner at The Savoy in London.
Guests can still expect to sample exceptional wines throughout the evening, from partners including Laurent-Perrier, Lingua Franca, Moët Hennessy Wine Estates and Ca’del Bosco. If you have a treasured vintage at home, you are welcome to bring it along, as there is no corkage fee.
The awards are judged by a panel of the world’s most respected wine authorities, including masters of wine and a world sommelier champion. Categories include best long wine list, best organic wine list and best sake list (outside Japan). This year’s shortlisted restaurants feature Nobu Dubai, London’s Blandford Comptoir and Dublin’s Michelin-starred Liath.
Past winners underline the awards’ prestige. Gordon Ramsay’s Pétrus claimed best medium wine list in 2024, while Milan’s Affinatore took home best champagne and sparkling wine list.
