Pierre Jaquet-Droz was a watchmaker of the late 18th century who devoted his life to perfecting his craft. As well as his manual dexterity, Pierre enhanced his watchmaking through automation and music, quickly attracting a wealth of clientele. Pierre Jaquet-Droz's personal success is immortalized through his eponymous brand, even after acquisition by the Swatch Group in 2000, the exceptional heritage of its father still fuels the reformation and flare with which Jaquet-Dorz watches are produced.From the launch of its Eclipse watch with an evolving moon, to the Ateliers d'Art that showcases the marvel of miniature painting, the brand continues to preserve the centuries of expertise that defines it. Incorporating automata further, the brand now presents a series of animated art timepieces that enchant the eye. These include the blooming Magic Lotus, hatching Bird Repeater and Dragon Automation collection with a 10 second animation cycle that mesmerizingly spurs the dragon's movement. The Skelet collection also triumphs technicality through its silicon balance spring, pallet horns and oscillating weight, but most stunningly through the self-winding skull at the watch's center.
