From a young age, heiress Aerin Lauder had an eye for curation. The culmination of her exquisite taste arrived in 2012 with the debut of her eponymous lifestyle brand, Aerin, which offers beautiful furniture, elegant games, home decor, makeup, accessories and barware.

Lauder splits her time between New York City, the Hamptons and Palm Beach, Florida, but one of her favorite vacation destinations is Bermuda, which is just a short few hours from the East Coast but feels a world away.

“Bermuda will always hold a special place in my heart. My grandmother Estée introduced me to the island when my husband and I were looking for a destination for a short honeymoon,” Lauder says. “Since my first trip, I have returned many times, and I am always reminded of the beauty and ease of the colorful island.”

Her favorite place to stay is Rosewood Bermuda, which she loves for its private beach, beach club and highly personalized service. “When I visit, I am greeted with my favorite flowers, Bermudian freesia and oleander, and my favorite candy, Swedish Fish. She is also a Rosewood curator (a group of luminaries who share travel insider tips) and launched her first-ever hotel amenity line with exclusive bath and body products, and even a fragrance bar. On property, she loves relaxing at Tucker’s Point Beach Club at Rosewood Bermuda and the Conservatory Bar, and you won’t find her without her Aerin oversized weekender bag filled with her island essentials, including a Hunza G white one-piece swimsuit and chic Berenford sunglasses.

Bermuda is also home to several local artisans that she loves. “I look for unique jewelry, hand-woven bags and handmade clothing that can only be found in the small shops of Bermuda. While I always search for gifts, I also look for local goods to curate my collection at the Aerin stores.”
