Rosewood Hotels & Resorts has announced its debut in the Maldives with the launch of Rosewood Ranfaru, located within the South Male Atoll.
The resort is set to open in 2027 with approximately 120 beachfront and overwater villas, all with private pools, and a few even based upon their own private islands.
The news of the launch will come as a delight, but perhaps no surprise, to purveyors of luxury travel. The Maldives stands as such a pillar of utopian luxury across the international travel scene that it feels somewhat inevitable that Rosewood, one of the biggest names in the industry, would one day set up shop across the tropical islands.

“The Maldives has its own mystique and allure,” says Radha Arora, president of Rosewood Hotels & Resorts.
“Given its well-earned reputation as a haven for discerning travelers, we are excited to bring our unique brand of lifestyle and hospitality to this chain of islands. We are confident that through our commitment to immersive amenities, world-class design and high-touch service, Rosewood will be able to offer the next iteration of Maldivian paradise,” Arora concluded.
Conveniently located a mere hour away from Velana International Airport in Male, Rosewood Ranfaru is already establishing itself as one of the premier locations across the islands, sprawling across a series of private islands clustered around a magnificent lagoon.

The adventure begins before guests even arrive at Rosewood Ranfaru, with guests invited to journey from the airport to the resort through either a 35-minute yacht ride, or a ten-minute seaplane hop.
With both journeys giving guests a taste of the luxurious amenities of the resort before arrival, the tropical paradise of Rosewood Ranfaru will continue to offer the same world-class hospitality as it has embedded across its other hotels and residences, including a beach club, an Asaya well-being facility and fitness center, and numerous water sports centered around the resort’s crystal clear lagoon.
With a clear mission to showcase the undiscovered elements of the Maldives’ ambiance and culture of peak island paradise, as well as its usual dedication to the company’s A Sense of Place philosophy, Rosewood Ranfaru has recruited a team of world-leading associates to curate a fully immersive luxury experience for its guests. 2027 can’t come soon enough.
