Four Seasons has joined forces with Cisneros Real Estate to launch a luxury resort and exclusive collection of residences in the Dominican Republic.
Set within Tropicalia – a 60-acre site on the white sandy shores of Samana Bay owned by the Cisneros family – the new property is slated to welcome its first guests in early 2026.
The resort will feature 95 rooms and suites, alongside an expansive spa, yoga pavilion, kid’s club and several gourmet restaurants.

Four Seasons is also currently in the process of constructing 25 private residences – a mix of three- and four-bedroom oceanside apartments with sweeping views of the Playa Esmerelda beachfront. While details remain sparse for the time being, renderings reveal modern accommodations with spacious private terraces steps from the water.
The luxury hotel brand brought in Brazilian architect Isay Weinfeld to craft both the resort and residences. Every effort has been taken to minimize the building’s environmental impact and ensure it qualifies for the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification.
This commitment to sustainability extends far beyond the resort itself; Cisneros’s non-profit, Fundacion Tropicalia, has invested in an array of programs to support the local community.
“Tropicalia reflects our family’s cultural values,” explains Adriana Cisneros, chief executive officer of Cisneros. “More than 10 years ago, we embarked on a journey to support social sustainability through innovative projects in agriculture, gender equality, education, environment, entrepreneurship and microfinance.”
“Our goal was to create a new kind of luxury destination that is in balance both with nature and with the local community.”
Alejandro Reynal, president and CEO of Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts added: “We are thrilled to expand Four Seasons global portfolio in the Dominican Republic, a market that we have long been focused on as a luxury travel destination.”
“We are proud to bring this project to life with our partners at Cisneros, who share our values of supporting the environments and communities in which we operate, and who we deeply admire for their work with Fundacion Tropicalia.”
