Auberge has officially thrown open the pretty shuttered doors to its much-anticipated South Carolina hotel, The Dunlin, Auberge Resorts Collection.
Located just 20 miles outside of the bustle of Charleston on the picturesque banks of the Kiawah River, The Dunlin is being positioned to embody the epitome of Southern charm via Auberge’s signature unobtrusive yet attentive service and a home-away-from-home atmosphere.

The Dunlin’s 72 guest rooms and suites are all encompassed within a series of guest-house-style cottages, creating a cozy residential-style feel. Designed by Amanda Lindroth, the interiors also aim to evoke the sweet Southern charm aesthetic, with a delicate pastel color palette, wicker furnishings and oversized bathtubs with river views.
The expansive Sweetbay Suite tops the billing as The Dunlin’s best suite and impresses with a wraparound porch, working fireplace and outdoor bathtub. The resort will also shortly be releasing pre-sale opportunities on 19 private residences.
The hub of the hotel is built around the main River House, which features a communal outdoor porch seating; the Willet Room bar, where guests can relax all day, from their morning coffee through to evening nightcap; and The Dunlin’s signature restaurant, Linnette’s, which is open from breakfast through dinner and serves a seafood-led menu, with a focus on locally sourced ingredients.
Nearby to the River House is The Cove – a relaxed hangout spot featuring a riverfront pool and a beach club-style area with sun loungers, private cabanas and an all-day menu, as well as roving snow cone truck and poolside oyster shuckers.

For a dose of R&R, the resort offers Aster, an Auberge Spa. Inspired by the healing powers of honey – particularly locally sourced Aster honey – the riverside spa offers rejuvenating facial and full body treatments, as well as a series of well-being workshops and fitness classes.
Spread across 20 miles of prime waterfront real estate, The Dunlin offers guests a lively immersion into waterfront living, with experiences on offer including a coastal wildlife safari through River Kiawah’s protected estuary, guided moonrise kayaking expeditions and fishing workshops.

Back on land, there are miles of nature trails to hike or bicycle, as well as cattle-ranch experiences, cheesemaking classes and harvesting classes. Proudly billed as a family-friendly resort, The Dunlin also hosts a number of experiences aimed at younger guests, as well as a summer kid’s club.
The South Carolina opening comes amid a swell of Auberge launches, including Collegio all Querce Auberge in Florence, which will open later this year, and Cambridge House in London, slated for 2025.
