Sin City’s CityCenter has added another show-stopping store to its streets. Prada’s latest boutique is a three-story, 20,000-square-foot fashion juggernaut that holds the Italian fashion house’s oeuvre of ready-to-wear, bags, accessories and footwear for men and women.
Designed by architect Roberto Baciocchi, the boutique’s façade is a compilation of black steel cones of varying dimensions joined together to set up a colossal gradient-like wall. Inside, the ground level features chocolate floors and cream carpeting that host womenswear collections, while ivory saffiano leather walls mounted with polished steel display cases exhibit bags and accessories. Menswear is shown in an area cloaked in ebony walls and flooring and raw iron furnishings.
Smoky iron and glass and mirror-clad walls lend the footwear lounge on the mezzanine level the illusion of floating in space. The first floor, dedicated solely to womenswear, is set up in a string of cozy rooms in multiple hues, played upon in dream-like designs by the light that filters in through the façade’s cones.
