A-list accessories label Christian Louboutin unveiled its latest U.S. boutique on June 30th in the heart of Sin City. Located in the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace, it is the French designer’s second Las Vegas location.
Design firm 212box and its principal architect, Eric Clough, worked closely with Mr. Louboutin to develop the store’s concept and design, covering the front façade in over 6,000 non-repeating wood tiles to engage shoppers. The sandblasted tiles feature letters from 32 different languages, drawn on by Clough’s 12-year-old nephew. “One could easily spend hours trying to decipher some meaning from the symbols,” Clough explained. “We wanted the façade’s design to help establish a sense of place and authenticity.”
Tinted acrylic displays adorn a separate room that’s dedicated solely to the burgeoning mens’ collection. Continuing with the theme of tiles, the walls boast uncoated copper tiles that will oxidize into an emerald green hue over time.
A number of styles exclusive to brand boutiques will be available for both men and women, from the glitter and calf leather men’s Alfie flat to a ladies’ Madame Butterfly pump crafted from sumptuous python. Expansion is nothing new to the label: Christian Louboutin recently opened a second store in Brazil, in the capital city of Brasilia, earlier this year.
