Art and Amsterdam go hand in hand: Rembrandt, Vermeer, and Van Gogh; Dutch artists have become well known around the globe.
Art Amsterdam celebrates art by showcasing new talent from the Netherlands and around the world, and will include photography, painting, sculpture, video art, installations and drawings. The 2011 show featured a total of 133 galleries, of which 44 were international, and the 2012 show is expected to be even larger, with more international galleries. In addition, many of the city’s museums and art spaces will hold special exhibitions and shows during the Art Amsterdam period.
