Just days after Ferrari unveiled its first all-electric model, the Luce, to a wave of mixed reactions, Rolls-Royce has reminded the luxury automotive world why it remains the benchmark for EVs.
On June 2, Rolls-Royce announced the Spectre Series II, a comprehensive update to the Spectre, the marque's first fully electric production vehicle introduced in 2022. While Ferrari's EV debut has sparked widespread debate among enthusiasts and consumers over its unconventional styling and departure from the brand's traditional design language, Rolls-Royce's latest offering demonstrates a more measured evolution.
The original Spectre proved to be a major success for the British automaker, remaining Rolls-Royce's second best-selling model globally in 2025. Rather than dramatically reinventing the formula, the Spectre Series II builds upon that success through a series of subtle enhancements.

At first glance, the Spectre Series II looks much like the car it replaces. Its elegant proportions remain largely unchanged, but the focus has shifted toward expanding personalization possibilities through new materials and finishes. If there is one thing Rolls-Royce clients dislike, it's seeing their car duplicated in someone else's driveway: the marque revealed that demand for bespoke commissions on the Spectre is exceeded only by the flagship Phantom, with some customers requesting “more than 20 individual and personal bespoke elements in their motor car.”
To meet those requests, the Spectre Series II introduces new customization options, including Duality Twill, a contemporary rayon textile derived from bamboo fibers. A full interior made that textile can incorporate “up to 2.6 million stitches, requiring up to 25 hours to construct.” Buyers can also specify Placed Perforation leather, a process in which thousands of precisely cut perforations are arranged to create illuminated artistic patterns across interior surfaces.
The exterior receives equally thoughtful updates, namely a new Ethereal Blue finish alongside a set of 23-inch forged alloy wheels engineered to “capture and reflect light from every angle”, and taking up to six hours to complete.

Beyond aesthetics, there’s engineering improvements worthy of note: the updated model delivers an estimated EPA range of 308 miles – a 16 percent increase over its predecessor – while torque climbs from 749 lb-ft to 811 lb-ft when Spirited Mode is activated. Charging performance has also improved by approximately 14 percent thanks to revised battery cell technology, reducing downtime between journeys.
Perhaps most importantly for North American customers, Spectre Series II adopts the North American Charging Standard (NACS), providing access to a significantly broader public charging network and making long-distance electric travel more convenient than ever before.
Pricing has yet to be announced and is expected later this year. However, Rolls-Royce confirmed that customer orders will open this week, giving buyers an early opportunity to secure the model.
