Larger than Life: Inside the Record-breaking Gulfstream G700

The new G700 officially has the longest, widest and tallest cabin in the industry.

By Emma

Gulfstream has delivered some of the most powerful — and jaw-dropping — business jets in aviation history, and its latest aircraft is here to outshine them all. The new G700, which was first introduced in October 2019, officially has the longest, widest and tallest cabin in the industry (at nearly 57 ft, more than six ft tall and over eight ft wide) — the record was previously held by the Bombardier Global 7500.

After its first flight earlier this year, it was confirmed that the G700 is the most spacious business jet in the industry, and it has the longest range at the fastest speeds. The G700’s two Rolls-Royce Pearl 700 engines power the aircraft to speeds of up to Mach 0.925, and all-new winglets help reduce drag while in the air.

But it’s not just about how fast your trip is; you need to get there in style, and Gulfstream isn’t one to skip the creature comforts. The G700 aircraft has 20 panoramic oval windows and up to five living spaces. Whether you’re traveling for business or with the family, there is ample space to entertain: An ultra-galley in front has 10 ft of counter space, plus a (very) spacious refrigerator, conventional oven, ample storage for tableware and a three-seat divan.

In back, a dining table spans the width of the cabin for in-flight dining up to six people, and the dining table even has hidden built-in wireless charging to easily charge your smartphones. There’s also an optional entertainment area, which can include a 40-inch TV opposite another three-seat divan.

Other details that enhance the flying experience include speakerless surround sound designed in collaboration with Bongiovi and ultra-high-definition circadian lighting (goodbye, jet lag!) that can actually emulate sunrise and sunset. The cherry on top, of course, is the master suite with an en-suite lavatory that includes a private shower, vanity and spacious storage closet for long-haul flights.
