Porsche and Embraer have today announced the launch of their brand-new partnership, Duet. This exclusive collaboration between the best in class of flying and driving will see a limited-edition pairing of the Embraer Phenom 300E aircraft and the Porsche 911 Turbo S.
Just ten of the sports car and business jet pairings will be available to purchase, with Porsche and Embraer both confirming that there is no intention to launch a re-release. To eliminate the feeling of any numerical ranking – as each Duet pairing is created equal – the lucky owners may choose their favorite number between one and ten, which will then be incorporated into the Duet logo on the vehicles’ exteriors.
Embraer president and CEO, Michael Amalfitano commented: “In the spirit of delivering the ultimate customer experience, we are fusing two of the most notable brands in the aerospace and automotive industries, bringing together the pinnacle in production sports cars with the market benchmark in light jets, once again proving that we don’t simply follow trends — we create them.”
Featuring a design overhaul that marries the two vehicles together, Duet aims to create a seamless transition between land and air. Inside the six-seat aircraft, the interior design reflects that of a car, while similarly the re-imagined Porsche interior is inspired by the Phenom 300E jet, with the collaboration logo featured throughout.
Small interior details, such as the aircraft’s seats featuring the same sew pattern as seen in the Porsche 911 Turbo S, and the car’s steering wheel emulating that seen in the jet, pay testament to the impeccable level of care put into Duet’s design.
The vehicles’ exteriors are equally as well thought out, with a shared paint palette and general scheme, with Porsche combining gloss and satin-gloss paintwork for the first time ever. In a process that is completely unique to this project, the car’s exterior is entirely hand-painted to mirror the paint method used on the Embraer Phenom 300E.
However, despite this marrying of design features, it’s important to note that neither of the vehicles has been fundamentally altered. Instead, through a co-operative effort, Porsche and Embraer have celebrated the world-class engineering, performance and aesthetic of the two vehicles through subtle design details.
Speaking about the historic partnership, vice president of individualization and classic at Porsche AG, Alexander Fabig commented: “Porsche and Embraer share a host of common values. As part of our cooperation, we used the know-how of both brands to work jointly on a unique pair of vehicles that are equally attractive for the customer group of jet and sports car owners.”
In addition to the Phenom 300E jet and the Turbo 911 sports car, Duet customers will also receive a special edition Porsche design 1919 COSC certified watch. Intended to be a third piece the connects the bones and muscle of this collaboration, the titanium-cased watch with leather strap will also feature the distinct Duet collaboration logo. The Embraer and Porsche collaboration also includes an exclusive branded luggage set, made up of a pilot’s briefcase and two weekenders.
Ten limited-edition Duet pairings are now available to order for approximately $10.9 million, with delivery expected in 2021.
