Said to have been drawn to the city’s long history, diverse culture and sheer beauty, Clase Azul México crafted this limited edition to reinterpret the vibrant metropolis through Mexican artisanship. Moreover, as the brand’s creative vice president, Héctor Gaytan, expressed upon the announcement, the release speaks to the deep connection between Clase Azul México and the Concrete Jungle. “New York City holds a unique place in our hearts. As one of our most important markets, it has allowed us to share the magic of Mexican culture with many people” Gaytan reflected.
“As a heartfelt gesture of our appreciation, we’ve crafted a piece that intertwines the city’s iconic imagery with Mexico’s cultural heritage.”

The tequila
For this limited edition, master distiller Viridiana Tinoco has crafted a unique añejo tequila – where tequila is aged in barrels for typically one to three years to produce a premium sipping spirit. Tinoco took a truly global approach to craft the first edition of The Loft Brooklyn Collection; the delectable liquid begins the first part of the aging process by spending more than 20 months in American whiskey casks, before being finished in casks of Calvados, a traditional apple brandy produced in Normandy, France.
This aging process lends depth and richness to the tequila, producing a spirit that is both smooth and complex on the palate. Taking things a step further, it embodies Clase Azul México’s enduring mission to serve the perfect blend of cultural significance with first-class luxury; crafting products that are as exquisite as the land they originate from. The release of The Loft Brooklyn Collection I continues the brand’s legacy of producing spirits that delight the senses while narrating a rich cultural story.

The decanter
Of course, as with all Clase Azul México releases, the decanter is just as artfully crafted and thoughtful as the spirit inside. But while the liquid it holds has a more international heritage, the bottle is quintessential and inescapably New York City. Paying tribute to Manhattan’s instantly recognizable skyline, the piece takes its inspiration from the city’s iconic Chrysler Building, emulating its Art Deco architecture with hand-painted brushstrokes and detailing around the base and neck in homage to the skyscraper’s distinctive silhouette.
Meanwhile, the bottle’s vibrant turquoise color brings to mind another of the Big Apple’s most recognizable landmarks, the Statue of Liberty. The hammered copper cap against the contrasting verdigris color – for non-chemists, that’s the name for that signature green color seen when copper oxidizes – represents the evolution of New York City’s architectural landscape.
Clase Azul Tequila The Loft Brooklyn Collection I is available in a 1-liter decanter, at 40% ABV, for $1,250.
