Clase Azul Destinations — the hospitality branch of the Mexican-owned and operated luxury house Clase Azul México — has announced a brand-new experience, set to intrigue and excite longtime Clase Azul fans and newcomers alike. “Cosmos” debuted in January 2024 at the Clase Azul Boutique at The Shoppes, Palmilla, Los Cabos. This interactive experience will give Clase Azul customers the opportunity to receive a customized bottle, that has been personalized based on the “essence and energy of the current chapter of their life.”
Following the completion of an immersive questionnaire, key aspects of the participant’s individuality will be expressed through the outer beauty of one of Clase Azul’s iconic and intricate tequila decanters. Inside these decanters, created as part of the Cosmos experience, will be a special 12-month añejo tequila, aged in American whiskey casks and finished in champagne casks.
“México has always been home to many cultures which have different ways of seeing and understanding human existence,” says Hector Gaytán, vice president of destinations and boutiques at Clase Azul. “The Clase Azul Cosmos experience will allow customers to look inward to explore and understand who they are. The experience will allow them to embrace their individuality by seeing it expressed in a custom tequila decanter they can take home.”

A tequila that depicts its owner
For Clase Azul, limited edition decanters are a particular specialty. However, the Clase Azul Cosmos experience offers something significantly more than a limited bottle. The questionnaire will explore the participant’s current state of being, and in doing so, the bottle created will represent the individual.
The appearance of the decanter will be based on three separate aspects. The individual’s energy, their element and their symbol.
Energy is based on how someone flows with the world at the present moment. This is deeply affected by an individual’s mood as well as the circumstances they are in. During the Cosmos experience, energy controls the base color of the decanter surface, with lunar energy represented by black and solar energy represented by white.

Everyone knows the four elements, air, water, earth and fire, but these elements can also be linked to specific personality traits. The important thing to remember is that each one reflects how someone adapts to change. Depending on the individual, the decanter will take on one of four different tonalities.
Air sees delicate dashes of light blue, water produces a deep blue hue and dark copper overtones, earth adds a brown and green mineral tint to the ceramic, and fire adds a reddish rust color with shades of burnt sienna.
Finally, the symbol is a representation of the person’s birthdate; while energy and element are constantly changing, a person’s symbol will always remain constant. Twelve Cosmos symbols have been specifically designed by the Clase Azul Cosmos creative team, and one of these will be engraved on the base of a person’s decanter.

A unique opportunity

“Different to our limited editions, Cosmos is an immersive, customized experience that allows our customers to be at the focus of their decanter,” adds Jonatan González, creative innovation vice director. “The experience seeks to create a decanter that reflects who you are while participating in the experience. Like you, this reflection can change over time. One can visit the Cosmos experience and revisit the following year and end up with completely different decanters.”
In essence, each time someone undertakes the Clase Azul Cosmos experience, the bottle they receive will be an artistic and visually stunning representation of themselves, with additional bottles charting how they change and develop. The decanter is priced at $850 and has a one-liter capacity. It contains añejo tequila at 40% ABV.
