Luxury Hotels in London Celebrating the Royal Wedding

With such anticipation surrounding the upcoming marriage of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, London’s grandest hotels have announced their own royal wedding celebrations, from indulgent afternoon teas to lavish overnight stays.

Milestone Hotel

This historic hotel lies at the heart of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, opposite Kensington Palace where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle currently reside. With this royal connection in mind, the hotel is hosting a Royal Engagement Package. The romantic stay includes two nights’ accommodation in one of the hotel’s opulent suites, a royal afternoon tea for two, romantic turndown with pink champagne, Bentley chauffeured car to a Hatton Garden jewelry store, horse-drawn carriage around London, private tour of Kensington Palace and photography session to capture it all.

Berkeley London

London’s fashionably Berkeley Hotel in Knightsbridge is celebrating the marriage of Prince Harry and Meghan through the hotel’s renowned afternoon tea experience, Pret-a-Portea, which transfers the season’s hottest styles into edible afternoon tea treats. In addition to hosting Royal Wedding Masterclasses in recreating bridal fashion favorites into royal wedding-inspired biscuits and cakes, the hotel will feature head pastry chef Mourad Khiat’s wedding-inspired creations in the spring Pret-a-Portea collection.

Conrad London

Over the royal wedding period, Conrad London is offering loved-up guests a special proposal package. While staying in a Conrad Suite decorated with rose petals for your arrival, you’ll set out on a romantic horse and carriage ride past Buckingham Palace and through Green Park and savor a royal-themed afternoon tea for two with sweets including a tonka bean and strawberry diamond ring. A private photographer will be on hand along with a bottle of champagne to celebrate popping the question.

Shangri-La Hotel, At the Shard, London

High up on the level 35 of London landmark The Shard, Shangri-La Hotel is hosting a Royal Botanical Afternoon Tea and overnight package, The Royal Celebration Experience, in honor of the big day. The afternoon tea will be served in TĪNG restaurant and lounge, with sweets by executive pastry chef Heather Kanuik taking inspiration from the flowers grown in the royal gardens. Try the cassis violet macaron with blackcurrant confiture and violet crème. The overnight package includes a Royal Botanical Afternoon Tea for two, along with an in-room bottle of champagne and macarons, English breakfast for two, and use of the Skypool on level 52.

The Savoy

Fairmont’s London hotel The Savoy has hosted members of the royal family since 1895, so to mark the marriage of Prince Harry and Meghan, the hotel has created a Royal Afternoon Tea featuring royal favorites, and signature cocktail, The Royal Welcome, incorporating a light and aromatic blend of Italicus Rosolio di bergamotto, Bombay Sapphire gin, champagne syrup, yuzu, peychauds bitters and English sparkling wine. The special cocktail is being served at the hotel’s award-winning American Bar and the Royal Afternoon Tea is available throughout May in the domed Thames Foyer.

Royal Lancaster London

By staying at the Royal Lancaster in May you can celebrate the royal wedding with the hotel’s special overnight package, which includes a stay in the grand Royal Suite, a bottle of Ruinart NV champagne on arrival and the Royal Signature Afternoon Tea for two in the Hyde Lobby Bar. You’ll also take home a luxury Fortnum & Mason VIP personalized hamper, White Company gift bag, £100 voucher for Harrods or Selfridges, and a Royal Wedding souvenir to commemorate the occasion.

The Arch London

In honor of the royal wedding, five-star boutique hotel The Arch London is offering a lavish getaway encompassing a two-night stay in a palatial two-bedroom suite complete with entertainment lounge and private courtyard, a Best of British three-course meal in the hotel’s restaurant Hunter 486, an indulgent champagne breakfast and royal afternoon tea. The package also includes a tour of Harry and Meghan’s wedding venue, Windsor Castle, and a £100 voucher for Fortnum & Mason. Tucked into a peaceful area of West London, this is an ideal base for a royal-themed stay.
