North Wales’ first five-star hotel, Palé Hall, has announced the launch of its exclusive new gin experience, gin-venture. Hosted in collaboration with local expedition specialists RAW Adventures and the Snowdonia distillery Forager’s Gin, the hotel is offering guests the chance to find out how gin is made and how to forage for the gin’s botanicals on Mount Snowdon.
On arriving at the restored Grade II listed mansion, guests are met with cocktails made from Forager’s Black Label and Yellow Label gin, followed by an evening in the dining room with an eight-course tasting menu that’s been created by the head chef Gareth Stevenson. As the local produce is celebrated in each dish, this menu represents the ethos shared by the distillery they work hand-in-hand with.
After a night in one of the mansion’s master suites, guests are treated to a traditional Welsh breakfast before heading out to the iconic peak Mount Snowdon with RAW Adventures to see how native botanicals are hand-foraged and used along with pure Welsh mountain water to produce Forager’s Gin. After collecting wild juniper berries, gorse and heather flowers the gin experience continues at Snowdonia Distillery where the master craftsmen give insight into the distillation process and the art of gin tasting.
Back at Palé Hall a bottle of Forager’s Gin is then placed in each guest’s suite ready to enjoy as a pre-dinner aperitif.
The gin-venture starts at $2,213 per room for a two-night stay with daily breakfast and dinner, the RAW Adventures expedition, private tour of Snowdonia Distillery and transfers.
