When your Italian adventure calls for a spa retreat, escape to a private island in the Lagoon of Venice. San Clemente Palace Kempinski Venice has recently debuted its spa in partnership with local perfumery The Merchant of Venice to offer Venetian luxury from head to toe.
Just a private boat ride away from Piazza San Marco, the new 4,000 sq ft Merchant of Venice Spa at San Clemente Palace Kempinski spans two floors to offer an exclusive sensorial experience. The spa includes four treatment rooms, a fitness center, relaxation lounge and wet area comprised of a Finnish sauna, Turkish bath and emotion shower (shower that stimulates the senses using hot and cold water). The spa features an indulgent menu of massages, Nature Bissé face treatments and beauty treatments, as well as sports and wellness offerings. As the first and only spa to partner with The Merchant of Venice Perfumery, the spa’s signature treatments and massages use the brand’s products for an aromatic atmosphere inspired by both Italy and Asia.
Get a gilded glow with the spa’s signature Splendor Anti-Age mask: a 40-minute treatment using a base of vitamin E, two serums and 11 24K gold leaves crafted by the Venetian workshop Mario Berta Battiloro. With gold as the key ingredient, the ultra-opulent face treatment is designed to soften and relax the skin, tone and stimulate cell renewal, eliminate blemishes and reduces wrinkles.
Relax in total seclusion with the private 530 sq ft Spa Suite, featuring a relaxation area, hot tub and a combination sauna, Turkish bath and emotion shower. Have a loved one join you for the Viaggio a Cipro per due (Voyage to Cyprus for two) signature treatment, which begins with romantic rose petal bath, followed by a couple’s massage using essential oils from the Mocenigo rose.
When you’re rejuvenated from a day of spa therapy, take a dip in the hotel’s heated outdoor swimming pool (a rarity in Venice), hit a few balls at the golf practice field, play a game of tennis or unwind with a yoga class. During the summer months, guests can enjoy the hotel’s Summerhouse Experience which combines the beneficial treatments of spa with the grounding elements of nature, such as a jog on the island’s trail with stunning views of the lagoon. Be sure to retire to the 2,045 sq ft San Clemente Suite which includes king-size beds, full kitchen, living room and option to expand to additional suites. Guests of the San Clemente Suite receive exclusive transfer service on the hotel’s boat from the Venice airport and complimentary breakfast.
