One of the world’s most iconic cars, the Porsche 993 was released back in 1993 and is widely considered by many to be the ‘last true Porsche’. Mixing luxury with high-performance engineering, the 993 is getting a modern day revamp courtesy of Gunther Werks, a company based in south California, known for combining retro cars with state-of-the-art technology.
The Gunther Werks’ 400R comes fitted with numerous upgrades including a slightly reworked body, redesigned front and rear bumpers, roof scoop, bespoke wing and slightly wider tires. Under the hood you can find a 4.0L flat-six engine built by legendary Porsche engineers Rothsport Racing, capable of pushing 400 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque. As well as Brembo brakes, 18-inch aluminum wheels, coilover suspension, anti-roll bars and a custom six-speed manual gearbox built by Getrag.
Gunther Werks have also worked their magic on the car’s interior, decking it out with carbon fiber seats, gutting the rear seats in favor of a carbon fiber parcel shelf and a series of color-matched stitching throughout. However if the stock interior isn’t to your liking you can ask Gunther Werks for a bespoke interior with a huge array of materials and colorways available.
The Gunther Werks’ 400R is available from $525,000. For more information please visit guntherwerks.com
