The Restaurant

Mayta, situated in Sào Paulo, presents a contemporary take on Peruvian cuisine, emphasizing the country's rich biodiversity. Chef Jaime Pesaque, who trained in some of the world's most esteemed kitchens, returned to his native Peru to open Mayta, which has earned recognition as one of Latin America's best restaurants. The restaurant offers a seasonal tasting menu that highlights Peruvian ingredients, alongside an à  la carte selection. Mayta also functions as a pisco bar, serving creative variations of the national drink. While Mayta does not currently hold any Michelin stars, it provides a refined dining experience that draws destination diners from across the globe. The restaurant also focuses on sustainability, sourcing many ingredients locally and supporting community initiatives.
