Summer may be right around the corner, and while you may be thinking about what you will be packing in your case for the next adventure, Louis Vuitton is thinking about what you will wear on the way there. The Maison’s Flight Mode collection, released last week, is comprised of ready-to-wear, travel leather goods, shoes and accessories, with elevated pieces designed for the journey as well as the destination.

The vintage-inspired collection is anchored in the brand’s heritage as a trunk maker, seeing classic pieces adorned with travel patches that are each emblematic of the Maison’s heritage. At the heart of the collection is the vibrant ‘Élysée Palace’ motif, a tribute to a former Art Deco hotel on Avenue Champs-Élysées, Paris – the landmark address where Louis Vuitton is reportedly set to open its first hotel, slated for 2026.
In addition to covering trunks, the classic motif is seen to elaborately decorate a passport holder, cosmetic pouch and the Horizon 55 Monogram wheeled suitcase. It also covers newly-introduced Monogram canvas bags, the Keepall and Side Trunk, the fabric of which they are made from – a mix of cotton and linen, coated in lightweight resin – is itself a reproduction of the original fabric the brand used on trunks made in the late 19th century.

Additional bags in the collection are reimagined for the convenience of travel; whether that’s the laid-back, suitably named Low Key Hobo and Shoulder bag or the OnTheGo Voyage, presented with new inner compartments for easy storage and removable belt pouch.
The collection also presents several ready-to-wear pieces, each of which takes a sporty yet stylish approach to provide comfortable relief during the endless complications that can come with traveling. From hooded capes, parkas and blousons in sumptuous and technical materials, pieces can be effortlessly worn in varying combinations to ensure versatile. Coordinated ensembles – including tracksuits, embossed monogram knitwear, cashmere sets and fluid tailoring in pinstripe – are perfect for the traveler who is always smartly dressed .
Of course, no outfit is complete without accessories – and the Flight Mode collection is no different. The Dailygram bucket hat and LV Moon Metal Square sunglasses are essential for hot vacations and endlessly days under the summer sun.
