Fall Capsule Collections Prove Louis Vuitton Remains Timeless

Creative director Pharrell Williams has released two capsule collections ahead of Spring Summer 2025.

While the world’s eyes are fixated on Paris as the Olympic Games are underway, our gaze shifts to the City of Lights for an entirely different kind of inspiration – fashion. Louis Vuitton, under the guise of creative director Pharrell Williams, has released two capsule launches ahead of its Spring Summer 2025 collection: “Fall”, a Men’s Capsule Collection, and “New Formal” menswear pre-collection, both available from the Maison from September.

Fall, Louis Vuitton’s men’s capsule collection, takes the dandy essence and house elegance that Williams has curated during his time at the French fashion house and reinterprets it for the transitional season. Made to be a versatile and transversal wardrobe to suit the metropolitan man, the ready-to-wear collection is all about adaptation; whether that’s between life in the city or on a weekend gateway.

The premise of the collection is inspired by the estate of the late South Korean painter Park Seo-Bo, a familiar face to the fashion label – Park previously collaborated with Louis Vuitton on the ArtyCapucines project in 2019 – the painter is known for his art style of minimalist yet graphically impactful lines. Continuing to pay homage to the artist, this capsule collection, Fall, sees the signature linear language of Park reinterpreted through textures such as velvets and Epi leather.

Four paintings from Park’s Écriture series have been interpreted in Louis Vuitton’s richly-colored jacquards, including a black velvet tracksuit and shirt set inspired by the painting 960728; a maple red wool coat and gilet inspired by No. 1-17 from 2017; a neon green blouson adapted from No. 30-22 (19/30) from 2022; and a grey three-button shorts suit, an off-white jersey hoodie-and-shorts set and a matching relief knit created in the image of No.021015 from 2002.

Accessories have come similarly inspired by Park’s paintings, linework and colorways, with small leather goods reinterpreted in air blue, neon green and maple red, and the LV Trainer Maxi fusing the artist’s lines against the grain of the Epi leather texture. Each of the collaborative pieces features a tag that caries Park Seo-Bo’s artist signature.

Louis Vuitton’s Formal menswear pre-collection for Spring-Summer 2025, meanwhile, seeks to bridge the gap between the back-to-work season through year-end celebration, where classic patterns, polished tailored suits and luxurious fabrics have been reimagined for both mid-season and mid-winter.

In this 18-look collection, Williams and Louis Vuitton bring a darker and muted color palette, where classic black, navy and white tones are complimented against textures of velvets and delicate beaded embellishments. Classic office attire such as double-breasted coats and straight-cut trousers have been styled with a statement sheepskin cardigan and logo-heavy scarfs.

Of course, given the name, there’s a heaped serving of formal and evening wear available – only this time they have been jazzed up to the nines. A three-piece velvet dinner jacket with satin piping is paired with a white plastron shirt and LV Cursive silk bow tie. The LV Cursive evening jacket and cigarette trousers have been embellished with the new ‘Damoflage’ print, the pixellated camouflage print created by Pharrell in his 2024 Menswear collection.

The Louis Vuitton Formal collection for Spring/Summer 2025 will be available in shops on 29 August.

Fall, a Louis Vuitton Men’s Capsule Collection, will be released in September 2024.
