Every month, Precious Posts is proud to bring you a world renowned jewelry designer. For the month of January, we met Yair Zur, owner of Atara Jewelry. For over a decade Atara has been a leading manufacturer in fine jewelry, creating bespoke designs in 14K gold, 18K gold and platinum.
What’s the history of the Jewelry Brand?
I grew up across the street of a diamond factory in Israel. As a child, I dreamt of owning a Jewelry business. When I came to New York in the eighties, I realized the journey was just beginning.
Tell me about your biggest accomplishment of 2014?
I started doing trunk shows and was inspired by meeting the customers wearing my jewelry. Hearing their stories and understanding their lifestyle helped me conceptualize new collections. The new collections resonated with my clients, and my sales grew quickly.
What is new for your brand in 2015?

We have several new jewelry collections in the works, and Atara Bridal clients can soon purchase bangles, bracelets, and earrings.
Who is your biggest inspiration and why?
My biggest inspiration is my cousin who was a famous lingerie designer. She started her brand with an idea and passion, and successfully followed through with her vision. It inspired me to follow my passion for diamonds, which I was always in awe of as a child. I saw my cousin’s success in creating lingerie, and I wanted to add the precious sparkle to the finger.
