FP Journe has joined forces with Phillips to auction a one-of-a-kind élégante 48 mm Titalyt, with all proceeds raised going directly to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation – the planet’s biggest private funder of breast cancer research.
The timepiece will go under the hammer at an exclusive event in Miami on March 2, 2024. Don’t worry if you didn’t get an invite; there’s also an opportunity to bid online for the unique wristwatch.
Since the élégante line was introduced a decade ago as a request for clients’ wives, the sporty women’s watch has taken the world of horology by storm. Such was its popularity that within two years of its release, FP Journe had released a men’s version in a larger size.

While the understated Flat Tortue case nods to timepieces from the early 20th century, the 21st-century electromechanical movement – an exclusive caliber 1210 with motion detection – is anything but old-fashioned. After 35 minutes of inactivity, the innovative watch ‘hibernates’ to save battery, stopping the hands from moving. Any sign of movement – however tiny – will alert a motion detector which wakes up the watch, automatically setting itself to the correct time.
The dial itself is relatively pared-back; a white luminescent dial features black Arabic numerals, save for numeral one which has been rendered in pink in a subtle reference to the breast cancer non-profit’s logo. The watch is finished with a simple rose-hued strap.
With prices for an FP Journe élégante 48 mm Titalyt starting at around $48,000, the unique timepiece is likely to fetch a hefty sum for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. It’s certainly a worthy cause: the non-profit provides critical funding for cancer research worldwide, powering major breakthroughs in prevention, treatment and survivorship.
