The Suite
The Presidential Suite at Shangri-La secures one of the city's most impressive vantage points. Double-height ceilings frame the open-plan living room, giving guests exceptional sightlines over the Imperial Palace Gardens from the 36th floor. Binoculars are provided for closer inspection of the panorama; on a clear afternoon, you can easily track the sun setting behind Mount Fuji.
The design palette is intentionally rich: deep fabrics, crystal chandeliers, and Chinese antiques are balanced by mirrored ceilings and original folded-paper artwork from Yuko Nishimura.
This residence is also equipped for serious wellness. A dedicated concierge is on hand to arrange a personal trainer for a session in the private gym, which is fully equipped with a treadmill and weights. Following a workout, the dedicated treatment room is immediately available for a restorative sports massage.
The Hotel
Drawing more influence from its Chinese owners than local design traditions, the Shangri-La embraces ornate elegance over minimalist restraint. With chandeliers rivaling those of Versailles, the interiors blend burnished wood and lacquer accents, creating the ambiance of a grand Asian hotel. Horizon Club members may never need to dine in a traditional restaurant, as an ever-changing selection of meal-sized snacks is offered throughout the day. Guests can swim 29 floors above Tokyo or enjoy a full Italian meal at Piacere while overlooking the Imperial Gardens. Centrally located at the entrance to Tokyo Station, the hotel offers seamless access to the city, eliminating any concerns about a difficult airport commute.
