An alluring beauty, this striking Métiers d’Arts Cartier Panthère Songeuse watch deftly embodies the feline, which has long been a symbol of mystery and intrigue for the legendary brand. The watch case and dial are meticulously set with diamonds and champleve enamel, designed in a form that emulates stripes across the entire piece. In fact, over the course of four days, the watch undergoes five different hand paintings and firings to achieve the final enamel result.
Nestled atop the watch case from 9 to 12 o’clock is a solid gold carved and sculpted panther, which is further bedecked in diamonds and sapphire ‘spots.’ The setting of the panther alone requires 120 hours of time. The panther is so meticulously set that even his claw feet and nose offer fine details. The tip of the nose is set with black onyx, and the eyes are set with pear-cut emeralds. In total, the white gold watch is set with more than 730 brilliant-cut diamonds weighing approximately three carats. Just 30 pieces will be made.
