This newest Emerald Signature Secret watch from Harry Winston is part of the brand’s Emerald collection of watches with cases shaped like the eight-sided emerald cut in gemstones; that cut was Harry Winston’s favorite. However, this watch is not set with emeralds, but instead with another rare and beautiful gem known as Paraíba. Part of the tourmaline family, Paraíba are extremely rare and known for their fiery intensity and almost neon turquoise color.
The 18-karat white gold secret watch features a swivel cover set with a large Paraíba in the center, and then alternating rows of diamonds and Paraíba. The cover swivels aside to reveal the octagon dial beneath, paved with 98 Paraíba stones. The alternating octagonal rows of diamonds and gemstones continue out from the case, ending with 24 marquis-cut diamonds in ‘petal’ motif. More than 100 hours of meticulous setting went into the making of this 400-stone, nine-carat watch, which is also convertible and can be worn as a wristwatch, pendant or brooch.
