The innovative watchmaker offers a unique take on gold to create the dial of this watch.
By Roberta Naas | October 21 2020
Hublot is known for creating innovative and unusual high-tech materials in its research and development lab in Nyon, Switzerland. Now, the brand offers a unique take on gold to create the dial of this watch. In a special, intricate heating process, gold flakes are crystallized in unique patterns. The gold flake particles rise and then set in a crystalline form that the artisan then layers, cluster by cluster, onto the dial. The final piece is coated with a transparent lacquer that was also years in the development stages. Because the crystallization is totally random, each watch is always unique. The Hublot mechanical movement (HUB1112) with automatic winding and 42 hours of power reserve powers the Classic Fusion Gold Crystal watches.
