A captivating multimedia exhibition curated by Luca Missoni will be held in Madrid from February 5th through April 5th 2009. The show, through suggestive displays, will narrate and explore the creative and artistic history of Missoni, one of the best loved and appreciated protagonists in fashion and design since 1953.
The Italian Cultural Institute has taken an exclusive leading role in promoting and sustaining the initiative allowing art lovers to immerse themselves in a movement that represents both history and the future at the same time. The exhibition will be hosted in three different exposition spaces, each of which deals with and develops a particular theme: “The Style and Culture of Fabric: A Trip through Tradition and Research” at the Italian Cultural Institute, “Stripes Talk: From the Origins of Ball of Yarn to Applied Arts” at the Museo del Traje (Costume Museum), and “Color Experiments: From Abstract to Concrete Design” at the European Institute of Design.
Diverse contents come together to create an immersive and emotional experience: clothing and sketches from the Missoni Archives, virtual scenery, documentaries, video-art, furnishings and contemporary dance films.
The exhibitions are complemented by a series of talks, workshops, conferences and debates on themes related to fashion, design, and art with the participation of Luca Missoni.
