Stockholm is strategically situated at the mouth of Lake Mälaren as it meets the Baltic Sea, and is a major center of Scandinavian culture.

Straddled across 14 islands connected by 57 bridges, the city is widely recognized as the Venice of the North.

The wealth of cultural offerings, fabulous architecture and expansive parks certainly set the capital apart in the region. The 750-year history of the city has provided an abundance of museums and attractions to stimulate and inspire, many of which are unique to the city. Stockholm prides itself on its Scandinavian character and the range of activities and events available in the year is a reflection of this.
