Bulgari Hotel Roma Welcomes First Guests

The luxury brand’s second outpost in Italy is located in the historic center of the Eternal City.

Zendaya and Priyanka Chopra Jonas were among the A-list celebs partying the night away at the star-studded opening gala for Bulgari Roma this week.

Situated within the bustling Campo Marzio neighborhood in the historic center of Rome, the luxury brand’s newest outpost is every bit as glamorous as you would expect.

The hotel – Bulgari’s second in Italy, joining its Milan property – occupies a meticulously restored 1930s rationalist building across the street from the Mausoleum of Emperor Augustus and a stone’s throw from the iconic Spanish Steps.

Bulgari brought in Studio Polis of Rome to oversee the restoration, while ACPV architects Antonio Citterio and Patricia Viel have put their stamp on the stunning interiors.

The hotel features 114 elegant rooms and suites adorned with beautiful made-to-measure tapestries, soft woven rugs and Murano glass lights. Bathrooms are particularly special: think hand-made mosaic rosettes and beautiful marble tubs.

For a truly unforgettable stay consider booking the Bulgari Suite. Located up on the second floor, the exclusive abode boasts a private kitchen, bar counter and dining room complete with a grand marble table from Agapecasa (for larger groups it can be adjoined with neighboring suites so you can bring the entire family along).

When it comes to dining at Bulgari Roma you’re spoilt for choice. The new hotel features a gourmet restaurant helmed by Chef Niko serving contemporary Italian cuisine, a laid-back café, and a lounge where you can enjoy afternoon tea.

There’s also an exclusive champagne bar with a Dom Perignon trolley and a buzzing rooftop terrace – the perfect spot for soaking up the views with a cocktail or glass of bubbly.

As you would expect from a Bulgari hotel, you’ll find an expansive spa (this one is reminiscent of ancient Roman baths) with a 65-ft indoor pool. Those with a penchant for shopping will be pleased to hear the new property is within walking distance of the brand’s signature flagship boutique on Via Condotti.

“The Bulgari hotel in Rome is not just a new gem of the Eternal City, but a true contemporary and innovative Roman monument that combines the pinnacle of hospitality and gastronomy setting a new world standard,” said Bulgari Group CEO, Jean-Christophe Babin.

“[It’s] also a genuine cultural center with a public library on Roman arts and architecture and unique statues from the world-famous Torlonia collection such as the Emporer Augustus welcoming our guests in the entrance vestibule. We are honored to contribute to the splendor of Rome, home of Bulgari and always an inexhaustible source of inspiration for all its creations.”
