Audemars Piguet Announces New Global Brand Ambassador: NBA Star LeBron James

LeBron James, celebrated two-time NBA MVP, is the new global brand ambassador for the renowned Swiss watch brand Audemars Piguet. In addition to representing the company on the international stage, James will collaborate with Audermars on an exclusive limited edition, as well as philanthropic efforts. Audemars Piguet, the world’s oldest watch manufacturer still in the hands of its founding families has chosen the athlete for his commitment to excellence, skilled technique and unwavering generosity—values shared by these two legends.

With regards to the special limited edition watch, LeBron has decided to donate the proceeds from any future auctions of his timepieces to his namesake charity, the LeBron James Family Foundation. This partnership is another chapter in Audemars Piguet’s long-standing tradition of philanthropy.

LeBron follows in the footsteps of other AP ambassadors who have demonstrated extreme passion, commitment and success in their respective fields, including race car icon Michael Schumacher, international soccer star Leo Messi, cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar and top professional golfers such as Lee Westwood, Graeme McDowell, Rory McIlroy and Vijay Singh.

“Audemars Piguet and I strive for excellence in all our endeavors,” said LeBron. “I am honored to be the next global brand ambassador and join the ranks of industry greats who have previously represented the brand. I am also excited to collaborate with AP on an exclusive timepiece that will be the ultimate symbol of our partnership,” adds LeBron.

LeBron’s appointment was celebrated at an invite-only 200-person event held at the Soho Beach House in Miami on Saturday, April 9. Always a style icon, LeBron was sporting the much awaited Royal Oak Offshore that was presented among the brand’s 2011 novelties earlier this year.
