GENEVA – At last week’s Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) luxury watch fair in Geneva, Audemars Piguet showed its iconic Royal Oak timepiece design in its most glamorous iteration yet. The Royal Oak Tuxedo Collection is destined to become the red carpet/black tie watch-of-choice for aficionados of the eight sided case that distinguishes Royal Oak.
The Royal Oak Tuxedo Collection consists of a pair of 18K white gold watches, plus a woman’s diamond choker and earrings, and cufflinks and shirtfront ornaments for a tux-clad man.
Details of the timepieces include black lacquer dials, diamond-set hands and hour-markers, and shiny black leather straps. The larger watch in the set contains Audemars Piguet’s ultra-thin self winding Calibre 2021 movement, whose hand-decoration is visible through a sapphire case back. Its case is set with 4.65 carats of white diamonds. The smaller watch is powered by Audemars Piguet’s self-winding Calibre 2140 movement, and its case dazzles with 3.8 carats of diamonds.
