Jaeger-LeCoultre Boutique In Geneva Intros New Collectors Area

By Pardhasaradhi Gonuguntla

Jaeger-LeCoultre boutique located at 2, rue du Rhône in Geneva inaugurates a new exclusive area that features in particular the Hybris Mechanica showcase presenting the horological marvels of the Manufacture.

This new area, secret, exclusive and as precious as a watch movement itself, is a meeting point for watch connoisseurs and aficionados of watchmaking art. It offers a perfect environment for a confidential encounter with boutique director Hervé Estienne and his team to discover the exceptional Haute Horlogerie creations representing almost 180 years of history of the Grande Maison of the Vallée de Joux filled with world premieres, outstanding achievements, over 1,000 calibers and about 400 patents.

Designed in the best traditions of the Vallée de Joux, this beautiful showcase brings together the treasures of watchmaking know-how and innovation. One can admire the true marvels: Master Gyrotourbillon I, Reverso Gyrotourbillon 2, Reverso Grande Complication à Triptyque, Master Répétitions Minutes as well as Duomètre à Quantième Lunaire, which was awarded the Public Prize at the Watch of the Year 2010 competition in Switzerland. This collection is the result of passion and joint efforts of over 1,000 people that work today under the roof of the Manufacture and produce over 50 different calibers including the smallest and the most complicated ones in the world.

From its origins in 1833 Jaeger-LeCoultre Manufacture maintained a special connection with Geneva. It was in the Cité de Calvin early spring that Antoine LeCoultre used to bring the winter “produce” of his Manufacture. In 1853 he founded a workshop at 2, rue du Mont-Blanc to finish the movement kits destined for export to the United States. It was also in Geneva when in 1937 the distribution company Spécialités Horlogères changed its name to Jaeger-LeCoultre marking the end of the brand creation process.

Jaeger-LeCoultre boutique in Geneva that opened in April 2005 holds a particular place within the brand’s universe. It is an integral part of the Grande Maison of the Vallée de Joux.
