VisitSweden has been named the top European Destination in the first annual Prevue Visionary Awards. The competition celebrates destinations and suppliers who have shown excellence in three core “Pillar” areas: Return on Experience, Return on Investment, and Return on Collaboration. The Destination award was shared with Stockholm Convention Bureau, one of VisitSweden’s strategic partners. Destination and supplier nominees from around the world were chosen by the editors of Prevue magazine, with winners decided by the meeting and incentive planning community as well as the public at large.
The top European Destination award reflects the commitment of VisitSweden USA to building its presence in the market and to positioning Sweden as a top global destination for Meetings and Incentive Groups, filled with beauty and history yet always contemporary and cutting edge. ICEHOTEL Sweden, also a strategic partner, received the first annual Prevue Visionary Award as best European Hotel or Resort.
Freelance Creative Director Andre Landeros Michel led the VisitSweden visual media campaign, drawing on his background in menswear design. Social media is also an integral part of VisitSweden’s outreach to both the MICE and the leisure travel markets, with ongoing Facebook and Twitter campaigns increasing brand awareness.
