This year, IWC Schaffhausen turned to its archives to reintroduce its Ingenieur collection. But the brand went back to a very specific time frame: 1974, when now-famed watch designer Gérald Genta designed the Ingenieur SL ‘Jumbo' that launched in 1976. Working with original sketches by Genta, IWC created the new series in updated form with a new case, a flatter bezel and a structured dial that, while modern, recalls the artist's intentions. It even boasts the screws on the bezel that Genta loved, but now they are functional. Measuring 40mm in diameter, this stainless steel version boasts a meticulous grid-pattern dial in aqua/green. It is powered by a mechanical automatic movement and has a soft-iron inner case to protect against magnetism.

The American dream is made reality through IWC Schaffhausen watches. Deeply rooted in American pioneering spirit and entrepreneurship, the brand combines this with Swiss engineering and ingenuity to create timepieces that challenge definitions of delusion. The unbound nature of the brand is reflected in its collections, which pay tribute to those who roam all corners of the world. From its Pilot's Watches collection that feature resistance to temperature fluctuations, patented SPRIN-g Protect systems and ergonomic case structures, we are invited to reflect on the transcendence of time. Similarly, engineered for navigators, the Portugieser collection incorporates classical technologies of haute horlogerie, including a double moon phase display and a developed tide indicator. The Portofino line also parades the moon phase mechanism with classy design, including an embossed silver plates dial and diamond embellishment to its watches.
