For the Moon Machine 2, MB&F teamed with watchmaker Stepan Sarpaneva to create the world's first projected moonphase display watch. The second collaboration between the pair is a culmination of both MB&F's concept of projection and Sarpaneva's mastery of the art of the moonphase. The projection system was first used in its Horological Machine No 8 to project hours and minutes via an optical prism that vertically refracts the impression. Here, the projection underscores the beauty of the detailed moon disc, which Sarpaneva painstakingly creates entirely by hand. The horological creation features an open-worked titanium web that surrounds the brand's signature battle-ax rotor and supports the golden moon. In addition to o!ering the world's first moonphase projection on a watch, MoonMachine 2 has bidirectional jumping hours, trailing minutes and magnified hour and minute segments. It will be made in 18K 5N rose gold, titanium and black titanium, with 12 available in each color.

The one rule that Maximilian Büsser & Friends follow is to rebel. Rooted in the laboratory-based artistic concept of collaboration, the brand gathers watchmaking professionals to cultivate timepieces that are rare and radical. Cooperation is the key element to achieving the best clockwor. The brand's 'Friends' include varying talents of product designers, photographers, manufacturers and more. While tradition underpins the brand's values, it is reinterpreted to suit the contemporary consumer, materializing time into three-dimensional kinetic sculptures that speak of and establish legacy. From MB&F's collaboration with Bulgari that birthed a bedazzling, diamond-imbedded dome timepiece, to the baffling bulldog structure of its Horological Machine No'10, the multi-dimensionality of timepieces created by Maximilian Büsser & Friends are astonishingly animate, telling not only the story of time, but also of geometry, history and art.
