This month will see the Saatchi Gallery play host to Mademoiselle Prive – a Chanel exhibition celebrating haute couture and jewelry from 1932, as well as the brand’s Bijoux de Diamants collection.
In a newly released video clip, Chanel muses Kristen Stewart, Lily-Rose Depp, Vanessa Paradis, Keira Knightley and Stella Tennant – all who have represented the brand in the past – reveal their thoughts on what makes this iconic brand special.

“I’m sure that as an artist Karl works instinctively and compulsively in the same way that he does with all his mediums but as a photographer there is such a naturalism…once he sees something you can be done in five minutes and you don’t even realize you have finished the entire thing because he just knows exactly what he wants” Kristen Stewart said.
Lily-Rose Depp added: “what is so incredible about shooting with Karl is that he really knows how to bring out the best in someone which then brings out the best in the clothes. It is a really good relationship in that sense and the photos always end up looking really amazing.”
Her mother, Vanessa Paradis, said: “Gabrielle Chanel revolutionized fashion. She was among the first to dress women in menswear. At a time when women wore suffocating corsets she went looking for freedom.”
British actress Keira Knightley, who has previously fronted the Chanel Coco Mademoiselle campaign, said of the jewelry: “it is incredibly contemporary. It is amazing that the ring was designed in 1932 and I’ve not seen anything like it recently. It feels very modern, it’s a beautiful ring. I suppose it is timeless and modern at the same time…the fact that (the collection) was designed so many years ago and yet is still so current is the magic of Chanel.”
“When you have a couture element in a house I think it lifts everything because there is such precision. There is a quality to the cut of the clothes whether it is ready to wear or obviously couture that runs through and I think that is quite unique” British model Stella Tennant also added.
The exhibition, which will begin on October 13th, will feature an enchanted journey through the brand’s haute couture collections, and promises to celebrate the history of Chanel from Gabrielle Chanel’s inspirations to Karl Lagerfeld’s unique take on this one of a kind fashion house.
Mademoiselle Prive runs from October 13th – November 1st 2015 at the Saatchi Gallery.
