Look in any gift guide targeted towards men – ours included – and you’ll quickly notice two items repeatedly listed: watches and cigars. Individually, they have become the basis of the modern gentleman’s uniform, so a partnership between the two would seem to come hand in hand. Perhaps that’s why the latest collaboration between luxury watchmaker Jacob & Co and the oldest cigar maker in the Dominican Republic, La Aurora, seems almost natural.
The partnership has created a new La Aurora-branded watch, complete with a humidor and limited-edition cigars. With a reputation for its dazzling and ambitious timepieces, it’s Jacob & Co’s collaborative spirit that has made recent headlines, working with car manufacturer Bugatti and Cristiano Ronaldo for its Epic X watch collection.
In this latest partnership, the Epic X La Aurora timepiece showcases a rose gold 44mm case, adorned with the iconic La Aurora name, logo and the classic No. 1 Perfecto cigar – the smoke favored by La Aurora’s founder, Eduardo León Jimenes.

With every purchase, customers will also receive a humidor and 10 La Aurora 120th Anniversary Limited Edition cigars, designed to perfectly complement their new timepieces. A full Dominican puro blend wrapped in a Habana 92 seed leaf, the cigars are part of a limited edition released in October to commemorate the 120th anniversary of the brand’s founding.
The watches were limited to a production of just 10 units, seven of which have been pre-sold to La Aurora’s president, Guillermo León, and his family and friends. The remaining three sets are available at Jacob & Co stores in three locations – New York, Miami and Geneva, Switzerland – for a suggested retail price of $48,000.
