Facials can loosely be bunched into two categories: the ones that feel nice, and the ones that make a difference. Teresa Tarmey’s treatments fall firmly into that second category. “We don’t do shoulder massages – we’re all about results,” she told me in her cooing Yorkshire accent as I settled into the bright lights of a treatment room on the first day of her new residency at Cliveden House.
With 26 years of experience and a deserved reputation as one of the pioneers of laser-based skincare treatments, Tarmey has one of the most trusted pairs of hands in the beauty industry and utilizes the likes of micro-needling, LED therapy and radiofrequency to achieve her hallmark approach to rejuvenating skin.
While the industry jargon can sound intimidating, Tarmey’s ethos is refreshingly rooted in honesty and transparency. Every treatment is entirely bespoke with a tailored consultation, and a careful explanation of each prescribed element and the expected results.

Tarmey’s extensive knowledge and experience equip her and her small team to handle all manner of skin concerns – from acne and rosacea to scarring and fine lines.
My sensitive, slightly acne-scarred skin and I underwent the best-selling Advanced Facial – a combination of cleansing, acid peel, blackhead extractions, targeted lasers and gentle micro-needling. Downtime is thankfully limited. A few hours of redness later and my skin was better than I’d seen it before: scars subdued, hydration restored and glow firmly achieved.
For this pioneering residence, Tarmey has brought some of her most important equipment on the 40-or-so-minute journey from the city and into the glamorous country hotel’s infamous spa (its outdoor swimming pool was famously the site where Christine Keeler first met John Profumo in the notorious Profumo Affair) where she will be offering a range of her signature treatments.

The partnership makes Cliveden House the first hotel in the UK to offer Tarmey’s signature treatments, with the sought-after facialist primarily working out of her swanky London clinic. Guests can choose between 13 therapies, ranging from the entry-level Signature Facial all the way up to the Rejuvenation Mega Boost.
“We are delighted to welcome Teresa to Cliveden House for this exclusive residency and to become the only property in the UK to offer Teresa Tarmey treatments outside of her London clinic,” says Kerry Hudson, spa director for Iconic Luxury Hotels.
“At Cliveden House, we pride ourselves on offering our guests a truly innovative and unique wellbeing experience, and Teresa’s results-driven approach to skin therapy is the perfect complement to our offering.”
