Porsche is swapping the race track for the ocean swells of the West Coast in a collaboration that pays tribute to the sun-soaked surf culture of 1960s Southern California. The carmaker has teamed up with Almond Surfboards to create a limited-edition line of Porsche-branded, handcrafted surfboards and a laid-back capsule collection of apparel and accessories.
The centerpiece of the collaboration, dubbed Single Fins & Air-Cooled Engines, is a custom-made surfboard that comes available in three classic Porsche 911 paint colors (Bahama Yellow, Irish Green and Polo Red) plus the distinctive Pink Pig racing livery. Each board, meticulously shaped by hand at Almond’s Costa Mesa workshop, can be customized with a racing number of the buyer’s choice.

The collaboration with Almond Surfboards is the first installment of Porsche’s Made in California initiative, a nod to the state’s enduring love affair with the iconic 911 and the surfboard. As Karsten von Engeln, president and CEO of Porsche Design of America, explains: “We are constantly expanding our product portfolio to extend the sports car experience for Porsche enthusiasts beyond the automobile.
“With Almond Surfboards and [its] bespoke approach to building custom-made surfboards, we couldn’t have found a better partner to translate the unique Porsche lifestyle to the waves.”
The boards aren’t the only stars of the show. The Porsche x Almond capsule collection includes a line of apparel including commemorative t-shirts and sweatshirts, along with a host of collectible accessories, all designed to channel the effortlessly cool vibe of California in its 1960s heyday.

The Porsche x Almond collaboration, including the Single Fins & Air-Cooled Engines surfboards and apparel, will be available for purchase from October 1, 2024, through Porsche’s official online shop, select Porsche Design stores and Almond’s Surf Shop.
