Superyachts to Charter for Spring Break

By Alex Martin

Spring break is almost here and millions of Americans are expected to use their time off to go in search of warmer climes.

As always, resorts and beaches will be overloaded with tourists. If crowds aren’t your thing, superyacht chartering will allow you to enjoy your vacation in peace as well as ultimate luxury.

If that sounds like your idea of heaven, you’re in the right place. Elite Traveler has found the most opulent superyachts for spring break.

Hemisphere is currently on a world tour and this winter is available in the paradisiacal waters of French Polynesia and the Marquesas Islands. She offers a superyacht lifestyle without the price tag.

Her innovative features include a swimming pool on the rear deck that can be converted into a dance floor. She comes with two 24.6ft custom tenders as well as a wide range of water-sport activities and state-of-the-art entertainment systems.

Key features: A 3.5m swimming pool/dancefloor, jacuzzi, spa & beauty Salon, gym, elevator, piano, helipad, zero speed stabilizers.

A custom-built steel displacement yacht, MYSKY boasts four deck levels and ample outside space. The Heesen-built vessel is the only in our guide available in South-East Asia and the Indian Ocean, allowing guests to explore tropical waters in places such as Thailand and the Maldives.

Mizu was first delivered by Oceanfast 15 years ago, but she is virtually unrecognizable from that original vessel following an extensive refit in 2016 and even a change of name in 2011. An impressive range of on-board entertainment includes a basketball court. A top speed of 28 knots means this is perfect for those wishing to travel far and wide.

Key features: Dedicated owner’s deck, basketball court, on-deck jacuzzi, 4,500 nautical miles range, two jet skis.

The Panthalassa is in a class of her own and, throughout March, is now available for the reduced rate of $150,000, a $50,000 saving. As a result, chartering Panthalassa offers extremely good value for money for her size and specification. The interior, designed by the widely acclaimed Fosters + Partners, oozes sophistication. For those who want to work during their time onboard, the dining room can be converted into a boardroom to make sure business does not suffer.

Key features: Dining Room/Boardroom, stunning central oval staircase, wide selection of beach equipment and toys.

Length | 239.5ft Guests | 12 Cabins | 7 Builder | Perini Navi Constructed | 2013 Max speed | 16.5kts Weekly rate | From $749,000 Broker | Y.CO Location | Cuba & Caribbean

Nautilus may look perfect for villains in a James Bond movie, but she has actually been designed for those wishing to preserve the planet rather than destroy it. A dynamic positioning system negates the need to drop anchor, which means guests can explore coral reefs without damaging them. The deck has been carefully designed with relaxation in mind. A feeling of zen flows from inside to out while a dedicated wellness deck allows guests to unwind.

Key features: Wellness deck featuring jacuzzi, massage room, sauna, steam room and hydrotherapy pool; eco-friendly features, sushi station, resistance swimming pool, five-person elevator.

Built entirely from aluminum, Irisha was custom-built to meet her owner’s very specific desires. Only launched in 2018, this award-winning semi-displacement motor yacht comes with the very latest in technology. The open-plan interior was styled by Harrison Eidsgaard studio. An open staircase connects the upper and lower decks and full-length glass doors ensure the entire space is flooded with natural light.

With a top speed of 25kts, Irisha has raised the bar for high-speed yachting. As the sun returns to Europe, she is the perfect vessel to explore the opulent wonders of the Mediterranean coastline.

Originally built in 2010, Skyfall benefited from a substantial refit in 2018. She has also been very well maintained, which means she also looks and feels like a brand new yacht. The entrance foyer is flanked with striking wine display cabinets and leads to the spacious and cozy main salon.

A second guest space, the panoramic sky lounge, is situated on the upper deck and comes with a game table and bar for evening entertainment. She is also wheelchair friendly with an opulent elevator connecting the VIP stateroom to the sky lounge.

Key features: Expansive deck space, basketball net, jacuzzi, a wide range of watersport equipment, 37ft and 23ft tender.

Length | 198ft Guests | 12 Cabins | 7 Builder | Trinity Constructed | 2012 (Ref2017) Max speed | 21kts Weekly rate | $430,000 Broker | IYC Location | Bahamas & Caribbean

Another exceptional superyacht that has recently undergone a significant refit, Mia Elise II was given a multi-million-dollar upgrade starting with a new coat of paint in 2016.
