The Restaurant
Cail Bruich, Gaelic for "to eat well," resides in Glasgow's West End, delivering on its name with a relaxed take on fine dining. The restaurant earned Glasgow's first Michelin star in eighteen years in 2021 and has retained it since. Head chef Lorna McNee, a champion of Scottish produce, demonstrates utmost respect for quality ingredients, showcasing them without overcomplicating the cuisine. McNee's classical technique shines through, particularly in the sauces, be it a creamy truffle and brown butter emulsion or a rich bisque enhanced by XO and chilli. The ambiance reflects the city's industrial heritage with exposed brick and stone walls, copper light fixtures, and reclaimed wood, creating a contemporary chic setting.
