The Restaurant

Godenya, discreetly located down a narrow alley off Wellington Street, offers a unique and intimate dining experience centered around sake pairing. The restaurant, which originated in Tokyo, is helmed by chef shinya goshima, a sake master who has dedicated himself to exploring the nuances of sake and its compatibility with fine foods. Goshima conceives his dishes around the sake he intends to pair with them, rather than the other way around. Godenya currently holds one Michelin star, awarded in both 2023 and 2024. The restaurant features a tasting menu of kappo dishes crafted with seasonal ingredients, many flown in from Japan. With only six counter seats and a table for two, reservations are essential to experience Goshima's passion for sake and its ability to elevate cuisine.
