The Restaurant

Mérito, located in Lima's Barranco district, is where chef Juan Luis Martínez masterfully blends Venezuelan and Peruvian cuisines. Martínez honed his skills at Central before opening Mérito in 2018. The two-story restaurant offers an intimate dining experience, and those in the know vie for one of the four coveted seats at the kitchen counter. Martínez's cuisine showcases both Peruvian ingredients and Venezuelan culinary traditions. Mérito does not currently hold any Michelin stars. The restaurant has garnered acclaim for its innovative tasting menu, which highlights the fresh produce of the region. Mérito was recognized as the best international restaurant by Food & Wine in 2024.
