Summer prints are slowly but surely starting to appear in clothing, as seen in the limited-edition line from luxury Swiss fashion brand Akris.
Partnering with New York artist Carmen Herrera, Akris creative director Albert Kriemler brings paintings to life with a vibrant new collection. Akris is known for its sleek pieces with architectural and artistic influence, making the collaboration a natural fit for the new season’s fashion.
Born in Cuba, Carmen Herrera studied art before moving to New York City and developing her signature geometric style. This year, at 101 years old, Herrera has inspired the latest collection from Akris with her abstract art. Herrera’s works are currently on display at the Whitney museum and have been translated into ready-to-wear fashion, bags and photo-printed scarfs.
