One month after the inauguration of the Yacht Club de Monaco’s new building, HSH Prince Albert II attended the opening of the new store in Monaco with the YCM Gallery. In a Mediterranean-style garden party theme along Quai Louis II, the Yacht Club’s President was welcomed by Jean-Victor Pastor (CEO of Only Yacht), Konstantinos and Sophia Tsoulevekakis (Brooks Brothers) and Tina Zegg and Carlo Cerlati, together with Philippe Schaeffer (Managing Director of Rolex France).
Located in the heart of Port Hercule, in front of the YCM Marina, the YCM Gallery is a new area open to the public in the Principality which has three new boutiques. Rolex, the famous Geneva-based fine watchmaker in partnership with Zegg & Cerlati; Brooks Brothers, America’s oldest fashion emporium, established in 1818; and Only Yacht, a branch of the Suisscourtage firm specialising in superyacht insurance.
Rolex and Zegg & Cerlati – where luxury combines with elegance
Two years after opening their first boutique in Casino Square, Zegg & Cerlati have joined up again with the world leader of fine watchmaking. Run by two well-known personalities in the Principality, Tina Zegg and Carlo Cerlati, Zegg & Cerlati have represented Rolex since 1998. This latest venture consolidates a privileged relationship, while celebrating their shared passion for watchmaking excellence, prestige and elegance.
Brooks Brothers – an American fashion institution
The opening of a store on Quai Louis II by New York’s longest-established fashion emporium celebrates nearly 200 years of expertise. “We are delighted to present in Monaco the first and only Brooks Brothers store in South of France and the 53rd in Europe” says Konstantinos Tsoulevekakis, CEO Brooks Brothers Monaco. A world renowned brand, the company has dressed numerous politicians from across the Atlantic. No less than 39 of the 44 American presidents elected since the brand was created have been dressed by Brooks Brothers, including Abraham Lincoln, John F. Kennedy and Barack Obama. They have also clothed numerous show business icons such as Andy Warhol, Nirvana, and produced all of the men’s costumes for The Great Gatsby – who’s costume designer Catherine Martin based on the designs of Oscar winner Catherine Martin.
Only Yacht – insuring the world’s largest yachts
The biggest insurance broker on the Côte d’Azur, the Suisscourtage group, founded in 1988 by Jean-Victor Pastor, has developed a line of specialised superyacht insurance premiums to meet the requirements of a VIP clientele in the Principality. With an uninterrupted view of the YCM Marina, which has 26 berths for yachts up to 60m, Only Yacht pledges to provide the most attractive products while meeting the specific needs of a very demanding clientele.
His Serene Highness visited the YCM Galley via the Yacht Club de Monaco’s Boutique, reserved exclusively to Yacht Club members, in the Atrium, the centrepiece of the building designed by Lord Foster. For the Sovereign Prince of Monaco it was the opportunity to thank Noëlle Duck, author of 150 Years of Yachting and Rowing in the Principality produced in collaboration with the Société Nautique (rowing club).
The book provides a definitive history of nautical activities in Monaco, retracing the history of the earliest regattas in 1847, powerboat meetings, rowing competitions and 60 years of the Yacht Club de Monaco. The book is on sale exclusively in the YCM’s Boutique and at the Société Nautique.
