Omega is Going for Gold at Paris 2024 – Here’s How

As the Games' official timekeeper, Omega is celebrating Paris 2024 with new releases and an exclusive pop-up.

By Daisy Johnston

Omega has been the official timekeeper of the Olympic Games since 1932, with Paris 2024 marking its 31st time measuring the event, in addition to being the official timekeeper for the Paralympics since 1992. The luxury Swiss watchmaker is celebrating the Games with the release of an athlete-focused advertising campaign, two new watches and the opening of the Omega House pop-up on July 28.

Omega Paris 2024 Bronze Gold Edition

The most recent watch, which was unveiled by Omega on July 24 ahead of the Olympic Games, showcased the Omega Paris 2024 Bronze Gold Edition. This watch, inspired by a classic Omega watch from 1939, is a highly collectible beauty, and captivates the Games perfectly through the incorporation of bronze, silver and gold, the three most iconic symbols of sporting success.

Bronze gold is used to create the shining 39mm case, the radiant dial is made from Ag 925 silver, and finally, the hands are crafted from 18K Sedna Gold that is coated in a special PVD bronze gold. As a result, all three medals are merged into one luxurious watch, emphasizing Omega’s heavy involvement in the Olympic Games and its commitment to the athletes.

Paris also features in the elegant design of the Omega Paris 2024 Bronze Gold Edition, in homage to the host of the Games. The pattern in the center of the dial is known as the “Clous de Paris”, and it has its roots in meticulous, highly detailed French craftsmanship. The stamped caseback shows a frosted Paris 2024 medallion, commemorating Omega’s role in the Games for years to come.

The watch, alongside a brown calf-skin leather strap, can be purchased from the Omega website for $12,000.

Four models of this new watch were released, and all feature the classic gold, black and white colorway of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games in 43mm cases. Two watches feature a stainless steel case with anodized aluminum bezel, and either a stainless steel bracelet or a perforated black calfskin strap.

Omega House Paris 2024

If you’re looking for a totally unique experience in Paris over the course of the Olympic Games, look no further than the Omega House, located within The Hôtel de Poulpry, Maison des Polytechniciens. It is the third Omega House to have ever opened, so it’s not one to be missed. This pop-up will be open to members only from July 28 through August 10 and will provide guests with an exclusive insight into Omega, its technology and history.

Spread across multiple floors and spilling into the garden are a variety of exhibits, including the stadium and a showcase of the vital Omega technology that is currently used in the Games, such as the electronic starting pistol and photo finish camera.

The Speedmaster exhibit soars visitors off to explore Omega’s history in space, displaying floating Speedmaster watches, whereas the Seamaster exhibit dives down into Omega’s maritime models. Finally, the Her Time exhibit examines the women’s watchmaking within Omega across the past 100 years.
