This time of year usually marks the mourning of summer, dreading the long, dark nights and anticipating the colder temperatures. That was until we saw the new Miu Miu has launched its Balmoral collection, which has given us a reason to warmly welcome the winter season.
The cool little sister within the Prada Group has drawn pieces from its Fall/Winter 2024 runway in addition to releasing pop-up exclusives to curate Miu Balmoral, a collection inspired by the conservative yet rebellious nature of British style. Alongside launching online for US and European shoppers, Miu Miu is also opening Balmoral pop-ups in various cities across Southeast Asia throughout September and October.

Blending the staples of British dress with Miu Miu’s inherent rebellious and fearless nature, the collection is playful with a practical and conservative edge, seeing a heavy helping of knitwear, waxed overcoats and walking boots. When there’s a risk of veering too similar to the closet of someone’s nanna, Miu Miu has styled the pieces with a masculine and oversized fit to ensure the brand’s distinctive progressive vibe.
Said to have been inspired by the sense of history and character of its namesake, there are plenty of Argal patterns, cable knits, and heavy wool cardigans to keep you warm on a brutal Scottish night – and of course, no Balmoral collection would be complete without a kilt or two.

There’s a casual flair even on some of the collection’s more formal pieces, like the pink poplin shirts and stacked pearl jewelry. And while practicality and versatility seem to be high on the priority list, with quilted blouson jackets and nylon vests, there are almost pajama-style matching sets and fleece sweatshirts to keep cozy indoors, too.
Leather accessories such as the Wander, Aventure, Arcadie, Beau, and the newly launched Penny bag are reimagined in sheepskin and Prince of Wales check. Meanwhile, the collection also showcases suede monk shoes from the exclusive collaboration between Church’s and Miu Miu.
